Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties. Develop novel diffractive optics metrology tool concepts that utilize robotics and mechanical automation concepts. Complete CAD design, sourcing, and mechanical builds of tools that analyze and quantify critical to quality (CTQ) metrics of devices. Write custom controls/automation software to run the tools and complete the data processing validate CTQ metrics. Validate tool performance to theoretical predictions. Transfer tools developed in the lab to be able to function in the mass production environment. 10% Domestic Travel Required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include:
  • Mechanical engineering experience to design parts/assemblies in a computer aided design (CAD)
  • Experience applying forces on mechanical assemblies
  • Developing automation/control systems for complex movable assemblies
  • Automation of mechanical assemblies
  • Rapid prototyping (design & fabrication) of custom parts
  • Design, calibration, and test of autonomous robotic systems
  • Advanced mechanical dynamics
