Description
Participate in core architecture investigation while working closely with Power architect; Select best design option for power metric performance optimization including but not limited to efficiency, power density, cost, reduced carbon footprint and scalability and reliability. Support development of the power supplies from prototype level to the mass-production: Collaborate with multi-functional team on design concept and in some cases with power supply module vendor. Support design simulation, calculations and analytical models for prediction of design concept outcome. Support design Schematic and BOM and work with layout team for power supply layout. Provide prototypes test and validation results; hands-on work in lab is a must. Provide technical support for production issues debug and resolutions. Be a leader in teamwork and open to learn new skills.

Minimum Qualifications
- BS in EE or related field plus 2 years of experience in power electronic.
- Candidate must have hands-on experience of power supply design and demonstrate good knowledge of offline conversion topologies including Flyback, PFC, resonant converters and analog/digital controls loops.
- Knowledge of control theory and basic embedded systems.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to guide critical decisions
- Must have good communication skills with a strong ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel overseas periodically (approximately 10%)
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in EE or related field plus 5 years of experience, or MSEE with 2+ years of experience in power electronics.
- Candidate must be familiar with power controllers, components, magnetic design, power supply layout and state-of the art techniques for efficiency optimizations including no load/light load efficiency techniques.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of high-volume manufacturing technologies and production variance.
- Must have excellent communication skills with a strong ability to work effectively across Design, Operations Engineering QA, Reliability teams.
- Prior work experience in computer industry and/or power supply module companies is a plus.
- Basic experience in embedded programming and debug for control systems.
- Must be highly motivated, self-starter with a passion for innovation, integrity and attention to details.
