The Vector and Numerics Group within the Core Operating System is tasked with designing, enhancing and improving various subsystems running on iOS, macOS, watchOs and tvOS. Most of this support is encapsulated in the Accelerate framework, a well used library serving many technologies, such as machine learning. The group is looking for an exceptional high performance programmer to complement the team and make a difference. As a member of our fast paced group, you will have the unique opportunity to delight and inspire millions of Apple's customers every day.

Description

You will work in a cross functional team which is implementing innovative and state of the art routines to support the necessary computation for such things as vision algorithms, machine learning training and inference. Team members are engaged in the design and optimization of low level computational support for all aspects of machine learning and computational primitives in service of models such as Text to Speech, Voice Isolation, Apple Music Sing to mention a few. We are looking for a developer to help with development and optimization of our Accelerate Swift library. The successful candidate will have experience developing in Swift and knowledge of machine learning primitives. Being able to craft performant and energy efficient implementation for the CPU is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent coding skills in Swift
  • Good understanding of machine learning primitives
  • Low level algorithmic development of machine learning primitives, linear algebra and vector programming a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/MS in mathematics, computer science or computer engineering

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
