The Sales Compensation Analyst will be responsible for helping to drive our monthly and quarterly end-to-end incentive pay processes and ensuring consistency and accuracy in variable commission programs administered.

Your impact 
  • Understand AppFolio’s commissions strategy and incentive payment processes. Take ownership of calculating, processing, and reconciling monthly and quarterly commissions. 
  • Manage the setup of new hires/new roles in the Xactly system, including on-target-variable (OTV) amounts, quotas, and compensation plan assignments.
  • Provide support to sales team members; answer questions surrounding plan mechanics and commission calculations. 
  • Partner with the Sales Operations team to calculate and process recurring SPIFF payments.
  • Participate in the monthly commission accrual process.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders across the Sales, Business Development, and Finance teams. 
  • Produce meaningful reports both within the commissions system and in Excel that can be used to validate commission payment accuracy.

 

Qualifications
  • Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information. 
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to tailor a message based on the audience as well as build effective partnerships and relationships at all levels and across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to proactively find opportunities and solutions without specific step-by-step instructions.
  • Highly organized and motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines while delivering quality results in a timely manner. Understands and is comfortable with asking for help when needed.
  • Natural curiosity with the ability to learn and work independently with minimal supervision.
Must have
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4 or more years professional work experience in a commissions or finance-focused role.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel required.
  • Familiarity with commission system administration, preferably Xactly Incent.
Nice to have 
  • Experiencing working with Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of sales compensation plan design strategy and commission plan development.
  • Familiarity with a SaaS business and go-to-market (GTM) operating model.
Compensation & Benefits     
The base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $70,000-$100,000    
The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.      
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
