We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Events Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Internal Events. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of employee experience events that foster engagement, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture. The Event Specialist will collaborate cross-functionally to design memorable events that align with the company’s goals and values, playing a key role in AppFolio’s high-impact events. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional experiences for employees.

Your impact
- Support the planning and execution of major employee events, including company all-hands, annual company conferences, and strategic executive and employee appreciation events.
- Ensure events run smoothly and efficiently through on-site event support, attendee registration management, and post-event follow-up, including feedback surveys.
- Create, plan, and execute virtual and in-person connection events for remote employees across the country.
- Assist with project management task creation, budget reconciliation, and communication plan ideation for internal events.
- Research & development for special projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in event planning and/or event coordination, ideally within a corporate environment.
- Experience with event and project management software (e.g. Cvent, Wrike, etc.).
- Proficiency in the Google Suite is preferred.
- Capable of articulating post-event business impact/metrics.
- This position is based in Santa Barbara and requires a hybrid work schedule (at least 3 days a week in the office) and occasional travel (10-15%).
- Requires work to be done outside of business hours (occasional evenings and weekends).

- Ability to be resourceful, agile, and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable with managing logistics and technology for virtual and hybrid events.
- Ability to work independently, while also being a proactive team player.
- A flexible and solution-oriented mindset with a strong ability to handle unexpected challenges.

Compensation & Benefits
The compensation that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $64,000 to $80,000 [base pay]. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
