Senior Software Developer / Tech Lead

Job Summary

As a Senior Software Developer/Tech Lead you will make a direct impact on Aparavi’s fast-growing business as a player/coach of a small team of developers. You will lead projects, provide technical guidance and deliver amazing products our users love to enable industry-leading leverage of corporate unstructured data. This is a hands-on role – you will spend at least 75% of your time designing, writing, and testing code. This is a hybrid in-office position with a minimum of 3 days per week in our Santa Monica office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead your team by example to deliver value rapidly, consistently, and with high quality. 
• Collaborate across teams to design and implement features, tech debt and internal tools. 
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and technical design. 
• Stand behind your code, support our products, and take care of our users. 
• Build your expertise in the Aparavi tech stack, use cases, USP and customers. 
• Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap. 

Qualifications & Education/certification requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields of study. 
• 6 years of experience developing distributed backend systems and services at scale. 
• Extensive use of emerging AI methods and tools that increase productivity. 
• Demonstrable experience and superior skills in C++ and Python. 

Preferred skills

• A clear focus and understanding of the challenges and approaches to unstructured data. 
• Passion for staying on top of the latest technical and business developments in AI. 
• Practical knowledge of operating systems and common networking protocols. 
• Embody end-to-end product ownership and a growth mindset.
