The Senior External Life Sales Advisor (Wholesaler) is responsible for Helping AmFam agents maintain accountability through influence. You will identify strategies and opportunities to help protect more customers with life insurance through various distribution models. You will perform joint sales calls and coach agents on best practices and deliver expertise in group settings. You will report to the Senior Manager, External Distribution.
In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and culture events. Primary Accountabilities
- You will identify and develop sales strategies designed to increase the sales success of the field sales force and enhance the experience of customers.
- You will communicate product sales opportunities and strategies and product or procedure changes/enhancements.
- You will participate in the design and implementation of life company programs to increase life sales with distribution partners.
- You will complete analysis of geographic regions that identifies trends and potential areas of strength and opportunity.
- You will identify unarticulated expectations and present unsolicited proposals to help company leadership and management achieve business goals.
- You will provide recommendations or solutions when working with distribution partners.
- You will work with assigned state leadership teams to develop and execute sales state life initiatives as well as drive increased life sales.
- You will provide prospecting, consultative sales skills and product knowledge coaching.
- You will assist agents with reviewing their book of business to identify immediate and potential sales opportunities.
- You will provide product information, customer planning solutions and sales assistance.
- You will have thorough knowledge to illustrate and position our products in an innovative way.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Baseline experience and understanding of Life Insurance products
- Experience working with insurance agents to influence performance is preferred
- Coaching experience strongly preferred
- Strong internal drive to succeed in a competitive environment
- Self-Motivated, proactive
- Outstanding sales acumen
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of growing business.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.
Licenses
- Must have or obtain proper Life insurance license within three months of hire. License maintenance and ongoing continuing education required.
- CLU, ChFC or CFP designation must be obtained within 3 years.
- Resident Life license within 30 days of hire.
- Non-resident Life license within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
