Close Process Lead (Hybrid)

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
The Financial Close Process Lead oversees and coordinates the company's month-end and quarterly close processes to ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will serve as the central point of contact for all close-related activities, leveraging Workday as the ERP system and FloQast for close workflow management. You will have strong knowledge of accounting, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and entities. You will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting.
In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from our National Headquarters in Madison, WI 53783.

Key Responsibilities:
- You will develop and communicate the monthly and quarterly close calendar.
- You will lead close status meetings and monitor progress using FloQast.
- You will track late journal entries and evaluate their impact on financial statements.
- You will manage the enterprise close task management tool (FloQast).
- You will drive process improvements and automation, including the use of AI, to reduce close cycle time.
- You will partner with IT/Systems teams to resolve ERP-related issues.
- You will lead post-close review sessions to implement process enhancements.
- You will track and report on close KPIs, such as close cycle time and reconciliation completion rates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Experience in close coordination or supervisory role.
- Experience with GAAP or NAIC statutory accounting.
- Proficiency in Workday ERP and FloQast (or similar tools).
- Experience in a Finance transformational setting
- Experience working in a Lean Six Sigma environment.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of financial reporting, financial analysis, budget and forecasting techniques or internal controls.
- Demonstrated experience writing accounting memorandums on complex accounting issues and business transactions and summarizing conclusions for a non-technical audience.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating financial information.
- Demonstrated experience managing/leading projects.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of, and demonstrated experience utilizing, complex concepts related to accounting and accounting systems.
- Demonstrated experience with spreadsheets utilizing complex functions and formulas.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
