DESCRIPTION

The AWS Documentation team is looking for a Program Manager to own a portfolio of initiatives that enhance the technical content experience for cloud architects who use AWS.

The ideal candidate is a program manager who shows serious obsession for customers, thrives when solving tough challenges, enjoys experimentation, and embraces ambiguity as an opportunity for innovation. They can deftly gather requirements and reconcile feedback from diverse sets of stakeholders, recommending feasible, win-win alternatives. Although this role will not have direct reports, the ideal candidate has experience in a team- or functional-lead capacity working on global content or digital media programs. Any experience you have with measuring or interpreting content metrics is a bonus.

Job responsibilities

This role supports content programs aimed at providing best-practices technical guidance on how to architect AWS services. These programs can span many areas: digital content strategy; editorial programming; search engine optimization; content freshness; content marketing; content workflow management; and enabling content contributions from technical SMEs. Program management of these initiatives requires successful collaboration across cross-functional teams, including digital product owners, technical SMEs, and marketing. The Program Manager will take ownership of 1-3 key objectives that support our architecture content strategy. For these objectives, the Program Manager will define the approach, plan the implementation, measure success, and communicate results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in program or project management
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
• Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
• 3+ years of Program Management / Content Management experience for large or global programs that develop and deliver digital content or media assets
• Experience in a team-lead or functional-lead capacity on a content development or digital media team
• Experience owning and implementing programs related to online content strategy, localization, digital content production, and/or the user experience with content
• Experience copywriting and editing documents and managing content/editorial calendars

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
• Experience in successfully influencing others outside of the direct line of reporting, and advocating on behalf of the customer
• High attention to detail, including precise and effective customer communications and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Able to navigate ambiguous situations, identify and solve for blockers with minimal guidance, and build cross-organizational partnerships.
• Experience owning and implementing processes across multiple business lines
