This position is located remotely (within the state of California). We are flexible provided you are open to traveling to the Oakland office locations as needed.
About Your Work
As the Medical Record Technician you will be responsible for retrieving medical records (both paper and electronic) from various healthcare facilities on behalf of health plans and other clients for retrospective and prospective reviews. We are looking for energetic self-starters with problem-solving skills who are computer-savvy and quick to pick up various software applications to retrieve medical record information electronically or through scanning from provider offices and facilities.
You Will Focus On:
- Travels up to 90% of the time, and will consist of driving to locations close to your home, as well as driving to locations that may require overnight travel
- Uses a laptop computer and a portable scanner to retrieve medical records which will be uploaded into a database
- Schedules appointments and visits to physician offices in a timely, efficient manner to meet all deadlines
- Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring:
- 1 or more year experience with Medical Records, hospital and/or medical office setting
- Knowledge and experience in health care environment/managed care
- Experience with technology systems-PC, scanners
- Track record of independent, quality work completed on schedule
- Adaptability-problem solver to work through technology and process-based challenges
- Reliable transportation to scheduled appointments/sites for retrievals
- Valid Drivers License
- Be available normal business hours, Mon – Fri 8-5 for scheduling
- Some experience/understanding of Medical Charts is a plus.
- Have the ability to maneuver/roll/lift provided equipment case (45 lbs.)

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
