Job Description
Our team is growing and we are actively looking to hire a Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence to join our team! The Business Intelligence team provides key insights on all aspects of the customer lifecycle. We support all functions within the Allstate Company Group (Allstate, Pembridge, PAFCO and Ivantage) such as Sales, Product, HR, Marketing, Underwriting, Finance, Risk, Compliance, SLT and many more. The candidate will be providing data driven insights, and making recommendations that drive business performance to support Allstate Canada Group's business plans and results.
Accountabilities:
- Design and develop solutions that will help you generate insights to be summarized and shared with our partners so they can better manage their business.
- Advise business stakeholders on how to measure their business processes and advise on best metrics to use for different processes
- Gather proper requirements and ensure they are aligned with the overall objective and insights sought by our business stakeholders
- Create Power Bi reports and dashboards to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and provide Insights back to our Partners
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize overall efficiency and improve quality
- Exceptional ability to visually present and communicate data, analyses, and findings
- Ability to Lead multiple project streams and provide technical direction to BI Analyst on designing solution and automating complex batch processing.
- Implement internal data process improvement: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesign/restructure database for more efficiency
- Develop and Optimize SAS/SQL programs to create efficiency on run time.
- Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft SQL Server and all Microsoft services associated with SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS) is a plus but not required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- University Degree (Math/Stats/Finance/engineering or similar) preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience is recommended (Marketing, Actuarial or Analytics)
- At least 3 years of experience using Base SAS/EG, SAS Macro, SQL, Power Bi
- Strong knowledge of Power Bi suite of Products and other visual analytics tools is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective negotiation and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Identifying new ideas, techniques and opportunities for improving effectiveness, performance and productivity is essential
- Sound knowledge of relational database structure
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve / Propose solution approach to resolve stakeholder's problem / needs and presenting findings
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities to provide insights on how to better manage their business
- Good verbal and written communication skills is a must
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with insurance/actuarial data will be considered a plus
