Job Description
The Director, Financial Analysis will serve as a business advisor, conduit of financial information and liaison to strategically position the Individual Health Business for success, and is responsible for implementing strategic change through managers and others by delivering perspectives on the business that include recommendations for action. The Director provides leadership in developing and achieving business priorities and leads collaborative dialogue across Business Units on priorities and initiatives.

This is a hybrid role with travel to offices in Chicago or Milwaukee as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Influence business decisions by providing financial transparency through forecasting, planning, measurement, business case development, capital management and internal controls
  • Liaison with distribution partners and lead internal and external sales compensation process and strategy to drive profitable growth
  • Provide an objective focus on execution and integration of Business Unit priorities, while managing expectations and successful outcomes
  • Leverage internal and external networks to increase Business Unit's success in achieving desired objectives
  • Partner with the Officer/Senior Leadership in the identification and execution of strategic approaches towards financial processes and methodologies (e.g., planning, reporting), overall team management and talent management
  • Analyze long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and decisions and consider ramifications to the business from an operational and risk/return perspective
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implications to the Individual Health marketplace. Consider strategic initiatives that maximize profitable growth in adherence to regulatory environment
  • Ensure integrity of financials through internal control environment and establishment of a culture of compliance
  • Ensure team efficiency and effectiveness through training, mentoring and talent management. Lead teams in understanding the link between Allstate objectives and their contributions

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job has supervisory duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
  • 12 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • No Certification, License or Registration is required for the job.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • High-level of knowledge of general corporate finance, GAAP/statutory accounting and general audit procedures;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to decipher underlying trends and drivers of financial performance
  • Expertise in planning, forecasting and expense budgeting
  • Reputation as a trusted business consultant in a finance related area - build relationships with management and clients while offering analysis and recommending corrective actions based on emerging trends
  • Navigate ambiguity, prioritize multiple projects to meet business partner needs
  • Ability to influence others resulting in conflict resolution, problem solving and alignment
  • Independent thinker with a strong mindset
  • Ability to establish workflow, delegate responsibility, and elevate team to accomplish organizational objectives
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills - manage shifting timelines, resources constraints and limitations while executing concurrent priorities and balancing tactical and strategic points-of-view
