Job description:
Our team is growing and looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration,
optimization, and communication of our employee and retiree benefit
programs. The ideal candidate brings in-depth knowledge of benefits
administration and demonstrates a proactive, solutions-focused approach in supporting employees, retirees, and internal stakeholders.
Role Designation: Hybrid, as per business need
Accountabilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert and primary contact for emloyee and retiree benefit inquiries, liaising with internal teams, vendors, and third-party administrators.
- Manage the full lifecycle of benefits administration including enrollments, life event changes, and annual re-enrollments.
- Maintain data integrity in the HRIS and ensure all benefit-related records and documentation are current and compliant.
- Lead monthly invoice reconciliation and collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate processing of benefit-related deductions.
- Oversee survivor benefit processing and life insurance claims with sensitivity and precision.
- Administer retiree benefit programs and manage monthly pension payments.
- Develop and enhance benefit communications, resources, and tools to drive employee understanding and engagement.
- Continuously assess and improve benefit processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to support strategic benefits planning and enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on benefits administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset.
