Job Description
The Audit Consultant I supports the execution of audits with a growing level of independence, contributing to audit planning, detailed control testing, and development of audit findings, while also ensuring compliance with professional standards and SOX requirements. This role partners with business stakeholders to assess operational risks and evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls while developing subject matter knowledge in key business processes and .
The consultant begins applying foundational data analysis and leveraging automation tools and emerging technologies like generative AI to enhance audit efficiency. This role also promotes a forward-thinking approach to risk assessment and gains exposure to Agile-based auditing practices-positioning them to support a modern, evolving internal audit function.
Key Responsibilities
Independently perform control testing for assigned audit areas, applying audit procedures appropriate to the process or control being reviewed.

Use structured judgment to identify and document potential exceptions and gaps in control execution.
Coordinate walkthroughs with subject matter experts and validate understanding through documented process flows.
Draft audit testing procedures, checklists, or work programs tailored to assigned business processes.
Analyze structured data sets to identify trends or indicators of control weaknesses.
Apply audit logic to emerging tools, such as generative AI, to support tasks like summarizing audit results or drafting test procedures.
Participate in developing risk hypotheses during audit planning, linking regulatory or operational risks to potential control failure scenarios.
Draft audit findings using standard templates, clearly referencing supporting evidence and explaining potential impacts.
Communicate preliminary findings and control observations to team leads and incorporate feedback to refine language, scope, or severity.
Manage evidence collection and follow-ups using collaboration or project tracking tools.
Support Agile-based audit execution by tracking testing progress, updating documentation, and communicating blockers.
Education
4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities

Education & Experience (in lieu)
* In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certifications:
Core certifications (CPA, CA, CISA, CIA, or CFE) are preferred for this role, and must be obtained within 18 months if not already held.
