Job Description

Position Summary

The Training Specialist leads, plans, and administers the curriculum for training in both classroom and field environments for Operator and Maintenance personnel supporting airborne systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as technical advisor/instructor/team leader applying an intensive practical knowledge of C5ISR systems and missions, responsible for leading the development and maintenance of an Operator and Maintenance training curriculum to include training plans, lesson plans, trainee guides, student workbooks, course materials, training aids, instructional media, testing plans, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains continuous working relationships with subject matter experts, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and appropriate development and production activities during the development and updates to applicable training materials.
  • Instructs on the theory of operation along with Operation of the complete system to include electronics, computer programming, and analysis of diagnostic reports, system trouble shooting, and repair up to depot level.
  • Provides responses and answers to questions/problems from the field. Identifies the best approach training requirements, to include, but not limited to, hardware, software, simulations, course assessment and refreshment, assessment centers, oral examination, interviews, computer assisted and adaptive testing, behavior-based assessment and performance, team and unit assessment and measurement.
  • Analyzes testing methods to ensure an appropriate and effective training methodology, and reviews course evaluations to modify training materials as required
  • Prepares reports for management and stakeholders on effectiveness and quality of training to support the training program objectives.
  • Advises the instructional staff on curriculum design, development, delivery methods, and testing of training participants
  • Ensures compliance with curricula design, development, course approval requirements and testing.
  • Analyzes instructor evaluations and offers feedback for improvement

Required Education and Experience (Mandatory)
  • BA/BS with 10 years of experience developing and leading a training program
  • Prior experience with C5ISR mission operations
  • Must possess a TS/SCI Clearance
  • Able to travel to Government sites to conduct training, both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Completed a DoD or industry equivalent Instructor course such as Army Basic Instructors Course, Small Group Instructor Course, Basic Instructor Course, Air Force Basic Instructor Course, or equivalent.

Desired Experience:
  • Certification as a Master Trainer
  • STEM degree with 10 years of experience developing and leading a training program
  • Possess a minimum of five years' experience participating in training product development sessions, instructing training classes, and understanding the training Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process concepts
