Job Description

Security System Engineer

The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Information Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring cybersecurity compliance by analyzing and testing systems, applications and networks, while providing lifecycle and strategic implementation of deliverables for Security Engineering efforts.
The Information Security Engineer will be a member of engineering integrated product teams (IPTs) and will be responsible for addressing the projects technical security requirements. The engineer will identify and address security requirements at each phase of the projects lifecycle including inputs to the RMF process. Pre-procurement tasks focus on selecting hardware, software and system features that meet DoD standards. Pre installation and system maintenance tasks will include system hardening, measuring compliance to DOD STIG standards and drafting mitigation statements or coordinating fix actions. The security engineer will be responsible for all technical input required for Security Engineering projects and efforts, including network topologies, system descriptions and test results. The engineer will perform systems engineering tasks including drafting system dataflow and architecture diagrams. The engineer will participate in network design to include security and functionality capabilities. The engineer will also be responsible for developing technical cybersecurity solutions in the areas of endpoint hardening, asset monitoring, access control, and network defense. The engineer's deliverables will meet the standards of the NCTE security engineering division leads expectations.

Experience managing and administering core IT services including Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server
Experience with HBSS and Retina/ACAS assessment capabilities
Experience with common enterprise network service implementations and network architecture principles
Experience drafting network topologies
Experience with TCP/IP networking principals and IP addressing schemes including subnetting and superneting
Experience scripting or coding is a plus
Experience with systems engineering
Experience completing and implementing DISA STIGS and other IA controls
Experience with Information Assurance principles and policy
Experience with DIACAP, RMF or other A&A processes

Bachelor's degree or 7+ years demonstrated experience in network or IT engineering and operations.

Required certifications:
Security Plus

Desired certifications:
CISSP/CISM.
CCNA/CCNP
MSCE

Must be a US Citizen, able to obtain a Secret security clearance
