Renewal Account Executive, Vice President

Work from Home

The Renewal Account Executive (RAE) leads the renewal process with overall responsibility for retention of existing revenue and services. The RAE works closely with the Strategic Account Executive (SAE), Client Executives (CE), Delivery Solutions leads and our large, strategic external clients through the renewal process of maintenance, expanded services, price adjustments and extending the tenure and lifetime value of our customers. The RAE will collaborate and partner with SAEs/CEs/Solution Leads advancement of the customer journey through the client lifecycle and the renewals process. RAEs will foster strong rapport building and consultative partnership with strategic and large clients including client contacts, procurement, and/or third-party consultants. The RAE will be responsible for identifying possible roadblocks to solutions longevity within accounts. The Vice President will need to manage a portfolio of large renewal accounts and provide strategic oversight, ensuring successful negotiations, long-term client satisfaction, and revenue growth. They will work closely with key stakeholders to drive renewal strategies, mitigate risks, and reinforce the value of our solutions. Additionally, the Vice President will play a critical role in shaping renewal best practices, optimizing processes, and aligning renewal efforts with broader company objectives.

Sales Process

  • Drives revenue and achieves revenue goals through maintaining revenue with Alight's existing customer base.
  • Collaborates and partners with Strategic Account Executives, Client Executives and Delivery Solution Leads to execute and oversee solutions renewal process for existing clients.
  • Collaborates to identify factors impacting ability to retain revenue and develops the financial and solution strategy required to retain the revenue.
  • Ensures the onboarding and adoption of products, as applicable, and the long-term success of each customer.
  • Monitors client satisfaction with solutions and proactively looks for ways to increase solutions scope and scale.
  • Actively identify opportunities to increase customer revenue through upsell activities and price increases, as applicable
  • Collaborates with pricing, Financials, and is responsible for the negotiations and contracting to drive contract renewal and close renewals deals.
  • Collaborates with solution architects, sales support, SAE, CE and Delivery Team to produce proposals and content for finalist meetings / site visits as well as identify and prepare key participants in these meetings.
  • Ensures all renewal contracts are signed and go-forward processes are agreed upon with the customer.
  • Manage renewal sales pipeline and report renewal activities and KPI's in regular sales meetings.

Client Relationship Management

  • Execute on Renew Every Day initiatives such as focused follow-ups, mid-year contract engagement and risk mitigation.
  • Build relationships with our existing customer base to monitor solution satisfaction and to develop understanding of a client's account "snapshot" or current situation.
  • Build relationships with client procurement and/or third-party consultants to effectively manage successful result.
  • Actively participates in client meetings with Strategic Account Executives, Client Executives and Delivery to help drive renewal and upsell interests.
  • Overcomes client objections to renewal process and actively educates clients about Alight product offerings, promotions, and solutions capabilities.

Requirements

  • 15+ years account management experience within outsourcing, or sales support, working with medium and large enterprise business clients
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Sound business and financial acumen
  • Phone contact management experience, knowledge of online marketing and CRM systems
  • Sales training that has included negotiation, upselling, and objection handling preferred
  • Travel Expectation 5 - 10% of the time (sometimes on short notice) to support meetings with clients

Formal education and certification

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
