As the Sr. Software Engineer LCM - Image / Builds, you will be responsible for focusing on developing software for use in operating/controlling computer hardware that will provide a platform for running end user applications. This position writes systems software using lower-level programming languages and includes operating systems, device drivers, compilers, utilities, etc. in Lake Forest, California!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, coordinate, and create software images, builds, installation scripts and configuration updates for a variety of surgical instrumentation systems and host environments.
  • Maintain configuration management according to the associated product Configuration Management Plan, and update plan accordingly, when necessary.
  • Incorporate changes, as advised, to the operating environment, and update local/group policies, according to defined processes and procedures.
  • Document and implement unit and integration tests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with builds, configuration, OS environment, driver compatibilities, and installation scripts or processes.
  • Communicate with and support Technical Services, Field Service, and other internal organizations (as the need arises) to provide intricate details of software installation and updating process, including sequences, configuration settings, etc.
  • Interact with outside vendors, write/modify/convey host module requirements, and be able to identify and hold outside vendors accountable for their deliverables.
  • Assure compliance to software release procedures for post-Market changes to on-market products.
Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate degree or equivalent years of directly related experience.
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 2 years of Proven Experience
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with scripting for Microsoft development environment, such as PowerShell, (.NET development, C#, or C++).
  • Proven understanding of Window OS services, processes, driver and registry configurations and analysis techniques
  • Experience with Windows pre-installations environment, Imaging techniques and tools, such as VMWare, ADK, SDK, DISM, and ImageX.
  • Knowledge of one or more software configuration management systems and related tools, such as: Confluence, Jenkins, AWS DevOps, Jira, Git, GitHub, TFS, networking and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studios, ADO, or other coordinated development environment (IDE) tool.
  • Prior experience crafting and driving software unit and integration tests
  • Ability to work independently, proactively identify issues, recommend and implement solutions and deliver quality results on schedule while handling multiple tasks and internal customers.
  • FDA/ISO regulations for software development, prefer including IEC 62304 Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle Management (SDLC) - (Agile/Scrum, iterative)
  • Good interpersonal & Communication skills to build positive departmental and inter-departmental relationships in a virtual, remote, and asynchronous environment.
