As the Senior Specialist, Digital & Social Media, you will help craft and share the Alcon story across our corporate internal and external digital (e.g., Alcon.com, Intranet, etc.) and social channels (i.e., LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, Viva Engage (formerly Yammer), and other platforms). Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner closely with graphic designers to draft and build original, high-quality branded content that is globally relevant, visually appealing and drives engagement.
  • Advocate for crafting and publishing content that meets brand standards and aligns with overall channel strategy, including images, videos and copywriting.
  • Develop and maintain a social media calendar, scheduling content in advance in alignment with the company's editorial calendar, and ensuring timely publication, abiding by channels' best-practices.
  • Cover Alcon events on-site and remotely, capturing, clipping and posting content in real-time.
  • Uphold the voice and tone of the Alcon brand that speaks to the target audience.
  • Apply outstanding channel and community management strategy to each social media platform - LinkedIn, Meta (i.e., Facebook and Instagram) and YouTube.
  • Lead, complete and collaborate closely with customer service teams to ensure accurate social listening occurs to facilitate engagement and answer inquiries regarding our company, products or industry, in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate day-to-day reviews in copy, creative and digital communications, ensuring content is integrated and drives call-to-actions.
  • Balance multiple projects, collaborate across matrixed resources and functions, work with agency partners and global collaborators. Adjust accordingly to changing priorities.
  • Aide in maintaining employee advocacy program, finding opportunities to amplify the Alcon Brand and share of voice in-platform for leaders and associates.
  • Upload and update corporate content on global and country sites.
  • Track, evaluate and interpret performance analytics to develop reports for internal collaborators.
Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs).
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Social media and community management experience, ideally with global brands on multiple accounts and platforms.
  • Demonstrate success by providing a portfolio and/or links of previous work.
  • Skilled in Emplifi, Sprinklr, Meta Insights, LinkedIn analytics, YouTube Studio and analytics, Site Studio and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent copywriter, creative visual storyteller, strategic and analytical problem solver.
  • Utilization of AP Style and social reporting tools is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong team mentality and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
  • Strong external communication skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally and engage with global audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media standard processes, industry trends, brand perception, sentiment and emerging social platforms.
  • Knowledge of photo, video editing, graphic design, accessibility guidelines and production is important.
  • Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud Express, InDesign and other creative design tools.
