The Workforce Planning Manager is a results-driven strategic planning manager who can develop and execute high-quality, complex, and flexible workforce planning processes at Airbnb. This role requires working with leaders and teams across all functions under tight timelines. The manager will be responsible for coordinating monthly staffing assessments to evaluate how resources are being deployed across the company to support strategic goals. In addition, the manager will work closely with the Talent function to further develop Airbnb’s capabilities to forecast staffing needs to support the Roadmap as well as assess the efficacy and efficiency of teams over time.

A Typical Day: 

Project Management of company wide quarterly and annual hiring planning:

  • Manage monthly staffing assessment, including managing the data, executing the assessment and delivering results to leadership
  • Extend the assessment to include all functions within Airbnb
  • Partner with the Finance team to ensure the staffing assessment taxonomy aligns the company taxonomy to support strategic planning 
  • Develop and implement a methodology to forecast resourcing requirements for future work and identify staffing gaps
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to validate forecast staffing needs
  • Create and execute a framework to measure teams’ efficiency and effectiveness to deliver on the Roadmap
  • Operate with the highest standards of integrity, credibility, and trustworthiness; maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information and data


Your Expertise:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in corporate strategy, business operations, talent operations, or a related field
  • Experience in business operations, portfolio planning, and enabling transformation 
  • Ability building and maintaining large data sets within Airtable, a relational database
  • Skilled in executive-level research and analysis, creating data visualization in Keynote and providing insights to support organizational decision-making
  • Strong background in managing strategic programs and initiatives, with a focus on stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment and sometimes under conditions of ambiguity
  • Outstanding influencing and communication skills, including strong interpersonal as well as executive presentation skills
  • Advanced degree in business, information systems, or a related field preferred (e.g., M.Sc. in Business Information Studies)
  • Experience in tech or consulting sectors preferred

Your Location:

This position needs to be based in the Airbnb San Francisco headquarters office 40 hours a week, or as required by the business needs for the role.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
