The Chief Business Officer organization plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and expansion efforts worldwide. Our teammates work on commercializing Airbnb’s new and existing businesses, helping Airbnb expand beyond its core offering as a place to stay. This includes recruiting and developing Airbnb’s global supply of high-quality stays, Experiences, and services, and executing Airbnb’s global in market strategy. With this focus on business strategy, quality supply and international expansion, the team is leading the way for Airbnb’s continued growth and facilitation of millions more host and guest connections.
The Difference You will Make:
As Senior Program Operations Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of key strategic programs in Spain and Portugal, partnering across internal teams and external stakeholders to drive Airbnb’s growth. Your initial priority is launching the Rural Revitalisation Program, aimed at dispersing tourism and boosting rural economies. As you progress, you’ll oversee additional initiatives such as supply acquisition, product launches, and commercial partnerships—all aligned with country objectives. Success requires strong project management, adaptability, and strategic thinking, enabling you to independently manage complex programs and support Airbnb’s expansion in Iberia.
This role is based hybrid (office and remote) in Barcelona, Spain.
A Typical Day:
- Review and update project roadmaps, including milestones and deliverables for priority initiatives like the Rural Revitalisation Program.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with internal teams (product, marketing, sales, analytics) to ensure alignment and progress on key objectives.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as local governments, tourism boards, rural community leaders, and commercial partners, to drive program outcomes and resolve issues.
- Track and manage multiple workstreams, delegating tasks and monitoring progress.
- Analyze data on host/guest engagement and market trends to assess program performance and uncover new opportunities or risks.
- Address operational challenges by troubleshooting bottlenecks and proactively adapting plans in response to changing market, regulatory, or business conditions.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and recommendations to leadership through presentations, status reports, and written briefs.
- Support the onboarding and activation of new rural partners or hosts, collaborating to co-create local strategies that foster tourism dispersal.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement by gathering feedback, reviewing outcomes, and proposing refinements to maximize impact.
- Balance strategic planning and execution while navigating ambiguity, working independently and making decisions to keep programs moving forward.

Your Expertise
- 8+ years experience in consulting and/or project management positions
- Experience in tech, hospitality or online Travel Agency (OTA) industries preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, marketing or sales teams
- Ability to take initiative and deal with uncertainties
- Customer service mindset with the creativity to help all stakeholders achieve their goals
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills
- Pays attention to both details and macro-level outcomes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever changing startup environment
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
- Data driven, can do attitude, strategic thinker and passion for new products and solutions
- Comfortable with Excel and Airtable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
