As a Senior Program Manager, you are responsible for leading and implementing large-scale programs and projects that drive the strategic goals of the Global Risk organization. You will work cross-functionally to deliver programs that drive measurable risk reduction and business outcomes. The Global Risk PMO Team prides itself in program management excellence, strategic partnerships and streamlined delivery from discovery through completion.

As a Senior Program Manager in the Global Risk PMO Team, you are responsible for implementing large-scale, cross-functional programs that drive the strategic goals of the Global Risk organization and Airbnb. You will deliver on the planning, readiness, execution, and launch of key projects and programs to achieve business outcomes. This high touch individual must come with experience working with executives, and be able to work with and influence stakeholders across entire organizations throughout Airbnb. The role demands a proactive approach to engagement and problem solving and excellent communication skills. Success in this role is defined by your ability to make an impact with your critical thinking, attention to detail, a think big attitude, and influencing key stakeholders.

A Typical Day:
- Design and lead complex cross-functional programs simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery while navigating ambiguous situations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across all levels of leadership to drive key programs and projects. Influence program strategy in service of the company’s high-level goals.
- Develop and execute program plans and schedules to achieve strategic and targeted outcomes.
- Be curious, anticipate and navigate obstacles, and skillfully negotiate changes with cross-functional stakeholders at every stage from discovery through to launch.
- Regularly assess project risks and opportunities. Leverage best practices and continually drive process improvements, but work creatively to drive execution and simplification.
- Effectively manage change by influencing and communicating with key stakeholders. Anticipate risks associated with change management, and ensure creative and effective mitigations are available.
- Facilitate workshops to drive planning cycles and improvements for the program
- Assess business and organization risk to make trade-off recommendations.
- Close the loop - monitor and measure your program outcomes and success criteria
- Develop expertise in specific risk domains and leverage that knowledge to influence program outcomes
Your Expertise:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in education or related field; MBA or Masters preferred
- 10+ years of project/program management or similar experience, with a proven track record of quality delivery with emphasis on program management best practices and methods.
- Experience managing and executing large, complex, cross-functional programs.
- Experience in creating detailed project plans and business cases to show measurable impact of program, progress and project execution
- Experience with working with engineering and product teams
- Ability to communicate clearly through both written and verbal formats up to the executive level.
- Experience forming strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders within and outside of Finance.
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in ambiguous situations, driving productive outcomes.
- Proficiency with the following project management tools and processes (e.g. Asana, Smartsheets, GSuite, AirTable)
- Formal project certification preferred (e.g. PMI, PMP)

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
