As a Market Lead, you will be responsible for the supply health, quality and growth in parts of Italy by managing professional host accounts and supply acquisition of high-quality inventory. Focusing on these responsibilities, you will build Airbnb’s strong market presence in your assigned region by collaborating with other teams as the local in-market expert. As someone who knows the Airbnb mission and values inside out, you will drive all phases of supply acquisition and market success, including acquisition strategy development, generating and converting supply leads, maintaining the experience quality, nurturing strategic relationships with hosts, as well as creating them from scratch. You will help develop and iterate scalable localized supply management strategies for both developed and highly competed market destinations and nascent and relatively untapped new markets ultimately ensuring our long-term market success.

A typical day: 

  • Identify and engage with potential new hosts to expand the market’s offerings, ensuring alignment with Airbnb’s values and quality standards
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to hosts, helping them optimize their experiences and grow their businesses
  • Assist hosts in creating compelling photo and video content
  • Collaborate with operational teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency in managing experiences
  • Stay informed about local regulations and ensure compliance, working closely with policy and legal teams
  • Connecting with the local teams
  • Analyze market data and trends to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Serve as a liaison between hosts and Airbnb, representing host interests and advocating for support and resources
  • Lead brainstorming sessions with hosts to explore ideas and create unique experiences that differentiate Airbnb in the market

Your expertise: 

  • 10+ years of experience in community engagement, events, business development, account management or similar experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships of trust and collaboration across internal and external teams, including a broad spectrum of creative, technical, and business disciplines
  • Understands the unique challenges that developing incredible social experiences have, and can expertly guide Hosts and on-the-ground execution teams
  • Expertise in market-level growth strategies, talent acquisition, and performance optimization
  • Creative problem solver, able to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
  • Skilled at navigating organizational barriers and leading cross-functional alignment to overcome challenges and drive business growth
  • Ability to work within fast-paced, data-driven environments, driving results through others and aligning market operations with long-term business objectives
  • Incredible organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills with an ability to set priorities, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Deep knowledge of the Italian market, with a strong network and understanding of key market drivers, trends, and challenges.
  • Passion for Airbnb, our Hosts, and the mission of the company
  • Fluency in English and Italian

  • This position needs to be based in Milan, Italy due to business demand. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
