Senior Software Engineer (Front-end)

Aira is looking for a part-time or full-time Senior Software Engineer. You will be part of the Engineering team responsible for developing the Aira product, which includes our Java Spring Boot API platform, VueJS on Electron web applications, Android and iOS smart apps, all using AWS for end customers and agents. You will be given the opportunity to work on part of or the entire stack, push projects and products that have the greatest business impact.

For this role specifically, we are looking for help in what we call Agent Dashboard, which is an Electron-based Vue.JS application that is deployed to our agents' computers. We also have another Vue.JS application called Self Service Portal, which is a single page application that serves as an external customer portal. Thirdly, we have an Ember.JS dashboard called Management Dash, that serves as our internal customer tooling.

The ideal engineer would be switch-hitting between these applications in the medium term. If part-time is your option, this position will provide a W2 or 1099 (depending on your needs), no end date, and the hours vary based on need.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Javascript
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds
  • Vue.js or other JavaScript application frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HTML5 APIs (we use WebRTC and the related media APIs extensively)
  • Knowledge of CSS3/scss
  • Knowledge of Webpack and node.JS dependency management
  • Knowledge of operating systems when it comes to OS application development (specifically, the differences across Windows and Mac)
  • Bonus: Worked with electron


Pluses
  • Good understanding messaging protocols like JMS/MQTT/AMQP
  • Knowledge in working with video/audio streaming technologies like WebRTC
  • Knowledge in video/audio codecs like H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9
