Position Summary:

Assist in the implementation, standardization and maintenance of accounting procedures and controls for Cash Sales Audit in accordance with established service level agreements as well as company, industry, and accounting guidelines. Confirm weekly store sales feed post timely and accurately to the general ledger and ensure account reconciliations are finalized. Build and maintain partnerships with vendors and company operations departments. Focus on continuous improvement efforts, company initiatives, and customer service strategies. Guidance and daily oversight of Cash Sales Audit team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Certify the receipt, balancing, and posting of weekly store cash sheet feeds which include store sales, liabilities, receivables, tenders, other income and expenses.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of 20+ account reconciliations assigned to the Cash Sales Audit Department.
  • Perform weekly and periodic analysis of applicable balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Partner with Systems Analysts, DXC, IT, POS, and others to implement automation, efficiencies, and new initiatives.
  • Receive and resolve store-level, and third party inquires. Maintain ongoing communication with the operating companies.
  • Ensure timely & accurate vendor accounting and payments for transportation companies, 3rd party Gift card, State Lotteries, Western Union, etc.
  • Direct and lead a department of six hourly nonexempt associates.
  • Coordinate and perform staff evaluations on an annual basis and informally as required; track and encourage staff performance and development; assist in performing staff administration duties such as hiring and discipline. Design and implement training for both new and existing associates.
  • Periodic completion and review of the Balance Sheet Flux with management after period close.
  • Assist with design, testing, and implementation of special projects such as customer service programs, technology improvements, yearly internal and external audits.
  • Partner with Genpact to advise on account reconciliations, continuous improvements, SOPs, and problem solving as needed.
  • Verify that all entries are properly documented and booked in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of SOP documentation.
  • Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven supervisory/leadership experience
  • Robust understanding of accounting theories, methodologies, principles, and practices, and the impact of departmental transactions on financial statements
  • Strong Inter-Personal skills, initiative, flexibility, and work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance
  • Experience working in ERP environment such as SAP
  • Supervisory Experience
