Primary Purpose

A Platform Engineer III has a demonstrated track record of providing expertise and leadership in the design, configuration, and management of job scheduling, report distribution, source code management, and various development tools. They are expected to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment leveraging forward-thinking technical engineering expertise in the job scheduling, report management, and development tools area of the enterprise. The Platform Engineer III is responsible for projects from inception to completion including all project artifacts, executive status reports, and supervision of less experienced contributors. This role works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, deep understanding of the technical strategy, operations, managed service providers and key stakeholders.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations are Salisbury, NC; Chicago, IL; Quincy, MA; Mauldin, SC.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the analysis, design and preparation of job scheduling, report distribution, and source code management tools, including Endevor, Control-M, Control-D, and CA-View.
  • Coordinate with managed service providers to ensure efficient service delivery and tool performance.
  • Provide assistance and support to business and IT team members regarding the use and troubleshooting of development tools.
  • Assure effective operation of job scheduling, report distribution, and source code management systems.
  • Develop and implement best practices for job scheduling and development tool usage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the tools and computing environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and process efficiency.
  • Ensures project artifacts are developed as required, this includes working with support organizations and suppliers to ensure proper documentation is created and stored in the procedure's manual or document repository.
  • Facilitates/completes the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders.
  • Provides suggestions and leads specific initiatives for improving way of working in teams and in eliminating technical debt.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent related work experience
  • 5 or more years of experience managing mainframe development tools and job scheduling within a mainframe and distributed systems environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Endevor, Control-M, Control-D, CA-View
  • Familiarity with Unix, z/OS, IMS, CICS, and DB2.
  • Experience working with managed service providers, particularly HCLTech and DXC.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in relevant tools and technologies.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience in retail or grocery.
  • Experience in leading teams.

ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $92,640 - $138,960

IL/MA/MD Salary Range: $106,480- $159,720

All ADUSA job offers take multiple factors into consideration including, but not limited to salary range, internal equity, a candidate's qualifications, geographic region, job-related knowledge and skills.

This position is eligible for an incentive bonus based on company performance as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
