Primary Purpose
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of ESG Data Transformation & Analytics, a pivotal role supporting one of Ahold Delhaize USA's top five growth drivers. This role leads the transformation of environmental and social data into actionable insights, enabling performance management, regulatory compliance, and public reporting across our U.S. brands.

Reporting to the U.S. Chief Sustainability Officer, this role leads a team of five analysts and manages over 20 contractors. The Director partners closely with senior leaders across Legal, Finance, Global Health & Sustainability, Business Planning, Tax, and Accounting to drive a unified ESG data strategy.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Quincy, MA, and Scarborough, ME.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the ESG data transformation function, supporting four peer directors in executing the U.S. regional health and sustainability strategy.
- Oversee the development and execution of a robust ESG data framework, coordinating hundreds of data contributors across merchandising, operations, supply chain, HR, and more.
- Drive the annual environmental and social target-setting process, aligning U.S. brands and global teams with public goals and stakeholder expectations.
- Partner with IT and Finance on a multi-year strategic initiative to build systems and controls for complete, accurate, and auditable ESG data.
- Define business requirements for data governance, IT systems, and internal controls to support limited assurance audits.
- Collaborate with ESG Finance and Risk & Controls to ensure the integrity of quarterly and annual ESG reporting.
- Serve as a key business partner to Accounting and external auditors to ensure compliance with evolving ESG reporting standards.
- Model scenarios for public goal setting and advise on in-year and long-term planning.
- Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to align on methodologies, definitions, and reporting procedures.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data analytics, ESG reporting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale data initiatives.
- Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, sustainability reporting standards, and regulatory trends.
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders across diverse functions.
- Experience with data governance, systems implementation, and audit readiness.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Familiarity with ESG assurance processes and tools.
- Advanced degree in Sustainability, Data Science, Business, or related field.
