We’re seeking an experienced and driven executive to lead our partnerships team in North America. This is a senior multi-faceted role where you and your team will be responsible for building our North America and global partnerships, working closely with key product, sales, and other leaders to drive growth. Your team will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of our most strategic partnerships that help Adyen take our proposition to market and support its growth. This role sits on both the global partnerships leadership team and the North America leadership team.

You have proven success and are comfortable working as part of a global team, encouraging effective collaboration across time zones and continents, and engaging with senior executives at all levels internally and within our partner ecosystem.

What you’ll do

  • Define the mid-to-long (1-3+ year) NA strategy for Partnerships that support Adyen’s objectives and align with our global Partnerships team while leading leaders in a growing team of ~15 members (managing multiple teams);
  • Be an active leader in the Global Partnerships Leadership team, up-leveling the organization with the necessary skills and strategic insight and driving our global business strategy. Will be required to drive significant change across our partner model and processes.
  • Prioritize NA strategy and individually help deliver on the highest impact opportunities to deliver on commercial goals;
  • Apply your broad expertise in partnerships, enabling the broader team to make business decisions that support the wider commercial team;
  • Serve as a senior executive stakeholder, providing strategic and consultative advice to influence the payment strategy of our partners;
  • Recruit the right partners to open up new business opportunities and sectors;
  • Drive a consistent flow of new business opportunities (referrals) across our target markets;
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to ensure effective collaboration;
  • Motivate and coach team members and encourage creativity and autonomy;
  • Create an inspiring, collaborative team environment with an open communication/feedback culture.

Who you are

  • 15+ years of experience in a related role, preferably in Payments, Big/Fin Tech, including managing managers in NA, building executive-level enterprise relationships, and proven growth through partnerships;
  • Experience working as part of a global leadership team while also driving the North America business
  • An energetic self-starter with a proven commercial edge, a track record of delivering results, and the ability to build long-term relationships;
  • Comfortable and excited by being responsible for commercial goals and creating a measurable impact for the business;
  • Can balance strategic thinking with world-class execution (brilliant basics);
  • An excellent communicator and team player with strong leadership skills and technical understanding.

Other details:

  • This role is based out of our San Francisco, CA office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
  • 30% intra-North America and International travel required
