Team Lead Technology Internal Control
As the Team Lead Technology Internal Control, based in Amsterdam, you will lead a global team of professionals that manages Adyen's internal control framework. You will guide and mentor the team to ensure the delivery of high quality work.
Your team works closely with the other internal control teams while collaborating with the first and other second line teams, all with one overarching goal: mitigating Adyen’s IT and security risks. Your team is highly motivated and thrives on shared success. As we operate globally, your team is part of an international team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets. You will play a key role in powering Adyen's sustainable growth, as well as scaling the internal control framework to the next level.

What you’ll do
- Lead a team across time zones that is responsible for managing internal control. The aim is to manage internal control in an efficient manner while staying within our risk appetite.
- Be a key source of knowledge regarding internal control.
- Engage with key stakeholders and work cooperatively to present, develop and/or implement recommendations regarding our internal control framework and continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Institute accountability, manage performance, track team progress and success, and present results to senior leadership.
- Help define and clearly communicate objectives and goals for the team.
- Coach and mentor members of the team, and play a key role in their professional development.
- Recruit talented internal control specialists, who can contribute to Adyen’s growth.
- Be an ambassador of the Adyen Formula.

Who you are
- You have a strong track record in internal control, experience with managing IT internal control frameworks, and demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of effective internal control frameworks.
- You have experience with leading international internal control teams.
- Experience in engaging with auditors and regulators across different jurisdictions, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements related to internal control.
- Proven ability to build and implement scalable internal control frameworks that support business growth and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Passionate and driven about leading a team, managing performance, mentoring and encouraging team members to continuously develop and grow.
- You are innovative, with strong problem-solving capabilities and able to define efficient and effective processes and procedures.
- You are able to serve as an escalation point to complex internal control questions and challenges.
- You thrive in an unstructured, fast-paced environment, challenging the status-quo and have a ‘can-do’ mentality.
- You are a strong communicator, talk straight, to the point, and communicate effectively with higher management.
- Must be willing to travel internationally where required.
- Payments or Fintech experience is not required, but you must be able to communicate your enthusiasm for the space.
Please, note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
