Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Adyen is looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to further strengthen the Group Finance team in Amsterdam, focused on leading and optimizing the process for supplier invoice processing and corresponding payments.

This senior role will drive the strategy and execution of the global Accounts Payable process, ensuring it supports Adyen’s rapid growth in a scalable, controlled, and compliant way. You will own the global Accounts Payable process and take a leading role in achieving Adyen’s goals of advanced automation and accuracy within operational finance.

Being part of the centralized Finance team means you’ll be working in the (financial) engine room of a registered and listed financial institution.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and own global processes such as supplier invoice processing, paying suppliers, and managing complex communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Drive and implement advanced automation projects to strategically streamline core functions and significantly improve accuracy, working closely with global leads, operational teams, and the wider finance organization.
  • Proactively optimize current processes and design scalable processes for the future.
  • Act as a key collaborator and subject matter expert within Group Finance (Financial Controlling, Payroll, and Tax teams) as well as with stakeholders outside of Finance, taking ownership of communication regarding complex invoicing and payment matters.
  • Initiate and execute process improvement and systems enhancement projects to drive strategic initiatives that help scale the organization.

Who you are

  • You have 3-5 years of operational accounting experience, with a strong background in Accounts Payable.
  • You are detail-oriented, with a highly analytical and strategic mindset.
  • You are a proven leader in automation and process improvement.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong prioritization skills.
  • Highly proactive in projects, able to work independently and lead initiatives, but always collaborative and effective at escalating issues.
  • Able to think multiple steps ahead. You are an experienced professional who can critically question the status quo and implement creative, scalable solutions to manage Adyen’s rapid growth.
  • You have strong, influential communication skills.
