The Opportunity

Adobe Design, our 750+ person global experience design group, is looking for a Senior Experience Designer to lead design efforts for Adobe Connect, part of the growing DALP(Digital Advertising, Learning and Publishing) business. We work on market leading products in the spaces of digital learning, highly interactive webinars, advertising, sophisticated multi-format documentation and more.

Adobe Connect has been a powerful product that has been much loved by users over the years and currently, as we explore to redefine what webinars and digital learning can be for tomorrow's users, we're looking for you to come shape the foundation of a modern Adobe Connect.

What you'll Do

  • As a Senior Designer, you will lead design for the product, shaping the direction for a small and focussed design team to create an exceptional product.
  • Have significant ownership. You will make important decisions about product vision, roadmap, and how it works, looks, feels, and behaves, while partnering with senior leaders across functions.
  • Lead the vision and execution of the team over the long and short term to drive impact through design.
  • Proactively engage and strongly influence stakeholders to drive the design strategy, improve processes, and align team objectives with pivotal initiatives.
  • Foster a growth-oriented, collaborative practice and engage in deep partnership with cross-functional teams for consistent impact.
  • Lead design craft by example, set a high bar of quality and mentor other designers on the team.
  • Champion a culture of research and validation to inform the team's design work.
  • Lead all aspects of design execution across releases. Create user experience goals, priorities and results that align with business objectives, coordinate multiple projects to completion, and drive adoption of best practices ensuring timely and detailed design work.
  • Represent the team and the team's work across senior leadership levels at Adobe
  • Be an evangelist for design as a function. Help drive and develop culture, practices and processes.

What you need to succeed

  • A passion to have an influential role with the product, as a driver for design process and product strategy, communicating design ideas persuasively and concisely to all functions of the organization, including executives.
  • 6+ years of industry experience in experience design with a proven track record of leading and delivering great design and strategy that meet user needs, product requirements & business objectives.
  • Preferably a strong formal education background in HCI or design related field, with an emphasis on human centered design, user experience or interaction design.
  • Ability to grasp the essence of complex problems and translate them to practical design solutions.
  • Proficiency in fundamental visual & interaction design principles, and industry standard design tools.
  • A curiosity for how business, social, technical and behavioral factors impact the UX across the user journey inside and outside the product UX.
  • Ability to lead other designers with clarity and focus, and catalyse growth in the team.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate goals, problems, opportunities and solutions.
  • Strong operational skills with the ability to work independently, and drive close collaboration and alignment between design, product development, engineering and business.
  • Being a phenomenal team player who loves to have fun while getting things done!
