We are currently seeking a Payroll Manager to join the team of a leading distributor in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. This position will manage the payroll process for several thousand employees and report to an HR Director. Responsibilities will include leading the payroll team and ensuring compliance of procedures and policies for processing purposes.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Overall responsibility for system management, user training and operational procedures
- Ensure accurate processing, reconciliation and recordkeeping of multi-state payroll
- Assure payroll deductions for employee contributions including insurance and garnishments
- Assist in processing year end information including W2s
- Create ad-hoc wage and management reports, including workers compensation information
- Review payroll tax procedures
- Resolve escalated payroll issues and/or discrepancies
- Lead training initiatives and opportunities for payroll staff

Requirements:
- Minimum of five years work experience in a large, multi-state payroll setting
- Proficiency in UltiPro
- Prior supervisory experience
- Minimum of Associates degree in related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills including v-lookups and pivot tables
