MGR - Technical Manager - Machine Learning (Python, AWS) - Remote

Title: Technical Lead/Manager Machine Learning (Python/AWS)
Location: Midwest Remote
Salary: $180-200K base
Requirements: Hands-on, no sponsorship available, leadership
The Lead/Manager Machine Learning is a key leader in providing reliable and scalable machine-learning capabilities across the organization. This person will be responsible for the working with their data science team, being hands on with Python, AWS and various libraries and career development of a team of very talented and passionate software/ML engineers, who closely partner with Data Scientists in producing models. The ideal candidate will have a passion and understanding of Data Science and Machine Learning and will have the substantial experience in software engineering and cloud engineering that is necessary to turn those models into highly visible, mission-critical capabilities that drive our client's iconic customer experience.

• 5+ years' experience in Software Engineering of highly scalable services (Python preferred)
• 2-3 years' experience in Cloud Engineering, with knowledge in distributed computing preferred
• 1-2 years' experience in building and managing Machine-Learning platforms/ecosystems, preferred
• 3+ years' experience working on fast-paced, highly collaborative agile teams
• Demonstrated innate passion for the Data Science and Machine-Learning, preferably building scalable ML platforms/ecosystems
• Knowledge in Computer Vision or NLP a bonus

• 1-3 years' experience managing direct reports, preferred
• Proven project management skills leading medium- to large-sized project teams (often multiple projects simultaneously)
• Demonstrated leadership skills - can apply clear direction and priorities to teams
• Serves as an empowering coach to the team by providing them with the resources, training, feedback, and a sounding-board to be successful in their roles
• Promotes a customer-focused team, balancing technical debt with speed-to-delivery
• Demonstrated ability to provide vision for the Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, and Machine-Learning spaces and inspire teams towards the future
• Interest in growing and leveling-up in the management career path within a Technology/Engineering organization

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science; Master's preferred
