MGR - Technical IT Manager (Applications, Data)

Title: IT Leader/Manager - Hands-on with App Dev
Location: Greater Chicagoland area
Salary: $120-145K

IT Leader/Manager will oversee IT staff and technology services, including infrastructure, software, security, and development. You will be instrumental to key operational areas of technology initiatives, aligning business objectives with technology solutions. The IT Manager will work closely with management to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also review and update IT policies, procedures, and best practices. A successful candidate will be a self-driven, highly-motivated, detail-oriented individual possessing great communication skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment. You will use your history of excelling when working with third party technology vendors to manage those relationships and products/services.

• Oversee and provide leadership to the daily IT operations and technology staff
• Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
• Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review
• Research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts (e.g., keep current with the latest technologies)
• Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.
• Work with third party vendors for infrastructure support, maintenance, including software release, system upgrades, and patch installation
• Manage external software vendor relationships, implementing internal solutions, including systems integration, and leading the build out of efficient reporting capabilities from the data architecture to the business teams
• Review the IT environment identifying proactive opportunities for improvement through process or technology changes

• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Solid understanding of networking technology and configuration (wired and wireless)

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in the IT field
• A college degree from a four- year educational institution is preferred
