People in the Corporate Function contribute to the running of Accenture as a high- performance business through specialization within a specific functional area, and grow into internally focused roles by deepening their skills and/or developing new skills within an internal functional area.

Legal and Commercial Services professionals deliver and coordinate legal, contract and commercial advice and counsel in support of Accenture's or our clients' business, working to manage and mitigate risk and ensure ethical behavior and compliance with laws and company policies.

Job Summary:

Serve as the Legal lead for complex M&A and strategic investment transactions within a fast-paced corporate environment. Advise senior company leadership directly on legal issues, including risk management and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as lead attorney representing Accenture's interests in complex M&A and strategic investment transactions
  • Strategize with senior company executives regarding the negotiation of such transactions and lead the related negotiations together with Accenture's corporate development team
  • Manage both in-house and outside legal resources, including local/non-US counsel in cross-border transactions
  • Independently manage drafting and review of transactional documents and correspondence
  • Advise and coordinate with non-legal professionals supporting M&A and strategic investment transactions (e.g. Corporate Development, Tax, HR, etc.)
  • Coordinate and manage the legal due diligence process
  • Educate and advise senior company executives with respect to legal issues, including risk management and mitigation
  • Work with tax and other advisors to structure transactions to be most advantageous from a legal and business perspective
  • Handle post-closing matters including working capital true-up payments and disputes, earn-out disputes, indemnifications claims, etc.
  • Stay abreast of business and legal developments in the M&A field affecting Accenture and the consulting, technology and outsourcing industry

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and JD (or equivalent) from top law school
  • Active bar membership
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing as an attorney with a national or international law firm and/or in-house legal department
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Substantial experience advising on multi-jurisdictional M&A, including acquisitions and divestitures, and equity investments
  • Strong preference for experience advising strategic buyers
Professional Skills:
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong executive presence
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and business acumen
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
As required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $165,200 - $250,999 and information on benefits offered is here.
