ExaCC Virtual Machine Engineer

The ExaCC Virtual Machine Engineer will be responsible for the following:

1. Operating System Administration: Support the daily maintenance of operating system, comprised of the System and log checks, server processes and managing Incidents related to the virtual server OS.

2. Operating System Patch Management: Support the OS patching process, comprised of the identification, testing, packaging and deployment of required security updates, patches and other updates associated with the supported operating systems

3. Antivirus Management: Antivirus protection for the operating system designed to protect it from viruses and other malware comprised of antivirus, firewall and intrusion detection services (IDS), powered by Symantec Endpoint Protection (or such other similar application).

4. Availability Management and Monitoring: Monitor virtual machine "VM" elements (such as processor, memory) and subscribe to alerts to notify designated recipients when thresholds are breached.

5. Data Backup and Recovery: Support OS-level VM backup and recovery Services backup using client tools. Disaster Recovery testing.

6. Cloud Storage Management: Ongoing management and monitoring of storage in Oracle cloud, including managing snapshots and data replication across zones. 7. Cloud Network Management: Management of virtual networks, subnets, and network service groups in Oracle cloud.

8. Incident Management: Monitoring and reporting of Incident resolution, Service Request resolution and related Service Levels for Cloud Services.

9. Commissioning and Decommissioning of VM instances: Support to provision new VM instances based on existing templates and enable operation support to such new VM instances; and support to decommission VM instances and disable operational support.

10. Cloud Management Platform - IAM and Role Management: Knowledgeable in Oracle Cloud IAM model.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience

2. ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certified

3. Oracle Linux 5 & 6 System Administration 1Z0-100 certified

4. Minimum of 5 years of experience working experience in configuring networks and storage in the Data center and in a virtualized environment, and creating, deploying and managing virtual machines.

Professional Skills:

1. Experience in administration of Oracle VM Server for x86.

2. Working knowledge of Oracle VM configuration in PCA, external storage integration for PCA, external ZFS Storage with InfiniBand (IB), thorough understanding of PCA Architecture.

3. Oracle Cloud architectural understanding and experience in setting up databases on cloud, including DBaaS model.

4. Working knowledge of Large Scale Datacentre Migrations, Virtualization, and Cloud Administration.

5. Experience in H / W zone creation and VM creation and management Install Configure OVM server and OVM Manager Backup, Recovery of Oracle VM manager.

6. Experience in Exalytics and its components up gradation on Oracle VM server and OVM and applying Oracle Exalytics release patch set Managing storage, networking, server pools and VM on virtualized

7. Operating systems system administration including Networking, Managing Kernel Parameters, Partitioning, File systems management, VM creation resizing is must

8. Should have involved managing and provisioning virtual machines for customers, supporting Oracle Linux

9. Good verbal and written communication skills to connect with customers at varying levels of the organization

10. Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision

11. Flexible to work in 24/7 shift.

As required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $56,500 - $94,799 and information on benefits offered is here.
