CT Tech Lead
Position Summary
Working lead, coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the CT Technologists, trains and mentors. Ability to perform duties of ARRT Technologist when not performing Radiology Cat Scan procedures. In Absence of Supervisor/Director, this position oversees the Cat Scan Department to ensure that the unit is operating efficiently and effectively. Ensures all technologists are kept informed of changes occurring within the department and facility.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff. Problem solving skills.

Qualifications
- Minimum requirements are Completion of JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology; Two years cat scan experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Preferred experience is three years cat scan experience with demonstrated leadership skills and CT Registry also preferred.
- Must have Currently Certified and Registered in Radiography ARRT, CRT. Current Arizona CTCT license. CPR required.

Responsibilities
- Performs general Cat Scan procedures for patients of all age groups served. Duties include: general operating procedures, start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving. Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents and equipment. Ensures correct exam is performed with the right patient, at the right time, verifies patient identification. Explains procedure and assesses the patient before testing occurs. Assists the radiologists with fluoroscopic examinations according to departmental policies and procedures. Follows protocol for PACS and RIS electronic systems.
- Coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the CT Technologists. Mentors new and less experienced staff and students.
- Performs billing and charging with hospital computer systems.
- Identifies, proposes solutions and assists in implementation of ideas for improvement in patient care and departmental / hospital operations. Identifies opportunities and implements strategies to decrease waste in supplies and equipment.
- Maintains inter and intra departmental communication via phone, fax, computer, etc. Maintains communication with CT Technologists. In depth knowledge of human anatomy, patient positioning and technical judgment.
