AAA is hiring for a Leave of Absence Administrator to join our team! This position serves as the business partner to internal business units in the administration and analysis of all leave programs. This role supports individual associates and their managers with active leave claims.

This position can work from home, however the selected candidate must reside within the AAA Club Alliance territory.

  • Administers the leave programs in conjunction with third-party administrators to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as company policies related to FML, personal/short/long term disability, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Advises management and associates on all leave programs. Manages inquiries regarding procedures, policies, and eligibility rules and regulations. Ensures timely and accurate communications.
  • Coordinates FML with other forms of leave including Worker's Compensation, short term disability and paid-time-off. Prepares and provides to Payroll a bi-weekly short term disability pay notification report. Communicates and coordinates with other HR departments, as needed.
  • Acts as an advocate for associates on leave to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and to ensure a successful return to work.
  • Serves as first point of escalation for leave related issues. Consult with third party vendors, the Benefit's, Associate Relation's, Payroll, and HR Customer Services teams, as needed.
  • Adheres to administrative procedures. Research and compile information needed to develop process improvement recommendations.
  • Monitors and analyzes usage and trends within leave programs. Works with Compliance Manager and LOA Supervisor to design and develop strategies and plans to reduce leave frequency and duration and expedite return to work.
  • Creates and maintains leave of absence records, including virtual, paper and system files to ensure compliant, accurate and timely documentation and reporting.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Prepares reports as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent area of study, and 3-4+ years of experience working with federal, state and municipal leave of absence and ADA/ADAA administration. Experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • HR certification a plus (i.e. PHR or CEBS certification).
  • Knowledge of current ADA/ADAA and leave of absence laws, regulations and policies.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize patterns and connections in complex information; able to utilize appropriate judgment in role as an advisor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with associates at all levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software products (Word/Excel), HRIS systems , and internet and website navigation required.
  • Project management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
