Senior Data Scientist – G2, Health & Wellness (P3692)

SUMMARY:

The Health & Wellness (H&W) team at 84.51° is the Data Science hub for Kroger Health supporting initiatives across their spectrum of work including Vaccines, Food as Medicine, Clinical Targeting, and more. We leverage large volumes of data to develop powerful sciences using cutting edge machine learning, natural language processing, and mathematical techniques to improve products, processes, and capabilities that make our customers’ lives easier. As a Senior Data Scientist on this team, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative products and capabilities that deliver value in the H&W space, influencing our Kroger Health stakeholders through actionable insights, and supporting a culture of learning and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, steward, and maintain product-grade solutions to manage and serve Data Science solutions to stakeholders.
  • Explore creative solutions to deliver actionable insights to support the Kroger Health business, automating for continued use wherever relevant.
  • Develop and contribute to Pharmacy data standards including documentation, packages, and templates.
  • Explore, explain, document, and transform new, unique, and possibly unexplored data sources.
  • Adhere to stringent quality assurance and documentation standards (GitHub, Alation, Confluence)
  • Drive organization innovation based on progress being made via academic and industry best practices, especially in the Generative AI space.
  • Support the team from a technical perspective, bringing company-wide best practices into the H&W space
  • Understand business requirements to manage trade-off across scale, risk, and accuracy to maximize value

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Statistics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience using advanced algorithms, programming languages, or technologies
  • 2+ years of experience developing cloud-based software solutions and understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability
  • 2+ years of experience in tech consulting, retail or related professional services is preferred
  • Experience in the Healthcare space (pharmacy, payer, provider, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong skills in Python, Spark, and cloud technologies
  • Comfort with independent learning of new technologies, and willingness to use unfamiliar tools
  • Comfort exploring new data solutions and working to solve problems end-to-end including managing data quality for new assets & documenting for the future
  • Ideal skill set includes some combination of proficiency in: Data Quality, Documentation, GenAI, Git, Data Architecture, Databricks & Azure set-up
  • Natural curiosity that welcomes and embraces change and willingness to try new things and to fail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional (Product, Consulting, Engineering, Data Science) environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities when necessary
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly on technical topics

  • The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest.  Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
