Lead Product Manager – AI Hub; (P4350)

SUMMARY:

The AI Hub and Gateway team at 84.51 is enabling access to industry and Kroger proprietary AI models, tools, services, and information for all internal employees. We strive to make AI easy, accessible, and available to data scientists and engineers, and to provide no-code tools and services for all 84.51° and Kroger users.  

As the LEAD PRODUCT MANAGER for the AI Hub, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how thousands of internal users across 84.51°, KTD, and Kroger General Offices discover and leverage AI information and capabilities. You’ll be responsible for setting the product vision, defining the roadmap, and prioritizing development and enhancements based on user feedback, competitive analysis, and engagement analytics, ensuring that our solution meets the diverse needs of both technical and business-focused users. You’ll also be responsible for building and engaging an AI community of practice, helping users share projects and information across teams.

You’ll lead a talented cross-functional team—including UX designers, front end developers, and back end developers—guiding them to deliver impactful features and improvements. Your passion for AI and user enablement will drive you to deeply understand our users’ workflows and challenges, championing solutions that maximize value and usability. You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels, communicating progress, gathering input, and aligning priorities to deliver business outcomes.

This role requires strong product management expertise, an analytical mindset, and experience working with full stack development teams. You excel at balancing competing priorities, making data-driven decisions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You thrive on feedback and are always seeking ways to elevate the user experience and accelerate adoption. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you’ll be the bridge between users, your team, and leadership.

Direct experience with AI products, user analytics, and internal enablement platforms is strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive business value for the team by discovering, prioritizing, and shaping enhancements and new user experiences into the product roadmap, ensuring solutions align with user needs and organizational objectives.
  • Leverage user engagement analytics, feedback, and performance metrics to inform product decisions, continuously optimizing the AI Hub to better meet user needs and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Manage and maintain a visible and up-to-date product roadmap promoting transparency for the development team, stakeholders, and users.
  • Clearly prioritize work into discrete releases to minimize user disruption and accelerate speed of value delivery
  • Partner with cross-functional technical leads to translate the roadmap and product requirements into effective quarter/cycle/sprint plans that are ready for development and delivery.
  • Outline clear product requirements and acceptance criteria to clearly communicate the definition of “done” for development teams.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and evaluate build vs. buy decisions to ensure the AI Hub delivers best-in-class solutions that balance innovation, user experience, and total cost of ownership.
  • Partner closely with UX designers to deeply understand the needs of a wide variety of user personas and job functions, ensuring the AI Hub delivers intuitive, relevant experiences for both technical and business users.
  • Manage and communicate dependencies and risks. 
  • Build strong relationships with leadership and key stakeholders, effectively communicating product vision, progress, and priorities while gathering input to inform strategic decisions and ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive user adoption and engagement, leveraging training, communications, and feedback loops to maximize the impact and value of the AI Hub across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team, encouraging experimentation and iteration to rapidly adapt to the fast-evolving landscape of AI and deliver innovative solutions that keep the AI Hub at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and communicate product dependencies and risks across teams and initiatives, developing mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery and minimize potential impacts to the AI Hub’s roadmap and user experience.
  • Re-imagine our user engagement model by developing and leading an AI Community of Practice

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Professional work experience in product management or product design for user experiences.
  • Professional experience in managing technical and business stakeholders
  • Skilled in a general technical acumen, able to efficiently converse with data scientists and software engineers and understand their development processes
  • Skilled in managing cross-functional software development teams in an Agile environment 
  • Skilled in managing business priorities against design/user needs while delivering against product roadmaps 
  • Stakeholder management skills – experienced in building and managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change. 
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills 
  • Planning, organizational and time management skills 
  • Comfort with ambiguity – remains confident, positive and resourceful in the face of ambiguity and unexpected results; recovers quickly from setbacks. 
  • Exhibits qualities of and have proven to be a great teammate 
  • Verbal and written communication skills, ability to translate between business and technical 
  • Technical acumen – grasps the technical details to lead a team 
  • 4-6 years relevant experience 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest.  Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
