When you're in a creative rut, it's easy to decide to give up. This New York Magazine video explains why you should keep trying, instead.

Sometimes, when I need to write an article, I have absolutely no idea where to start. I stare at the blinking cursor in my Word document and try to will creative genius to spring into my brain.

Well, I try for five minutes. And then I accept defeat.

Hitting creative blocks is zero fun. But instead of throwing in the towel, scientists have found that we should keep pushing forward. No, you shouldn’t continue staring at your screen (or the wall) and waiting for something magical to appear on it. Instead, you need to take action.

Watch this video to figure out how—and then, when you face your next barrier at work, go conquer it. I’m willing to bet that if you don't give up, you’ll feel a whole lot more productive.
