We are seeking an experienced and strategic Legal Program Operations Manager to lead and optimize core operational functions within the Legal Department. This role is responsible for overseeing legal billing and financial operations, training and enablement programs, e-discovery processes, and legal applications management. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, data-driven professional with deep knowledge of legal operations and excellent vendor management skills. The ability to drive cross-functional initiatives that improve efficiency, compliance, and scalability is also critical for this role.

About the Team

The Legal Operations team works to eliminate friction through automation, tech, and aligned processes. This team supports with Strategic Planning, Knowledge Management & Engagement, Technology Strategy & Process Optimization, Outside Counsel and Vendor Management, Budget & Financial Management, and Leaning & Development.

Responsibilities

  • Legal Billing & Financial Management:Overseeing end‑to‑end legal billing, accruals, and budget tracking. Managing outside counsel and vendor relationships to ensure billing compliance. Implementing and optimizing e‑billing and matter management systems. Analyzing spend data and providing actionable reporting and forecasting. Identifying cost‑saving and process‑improvement opportunities.
  • Training & Legal Enablement: Developing and managing training on systems, processes, and compliance. Partnering with HR and Compliance to support onboarding and development. Creating documentation, playbooks, and knowledge resources. Driving adoption of legal tools and best practices.
  • E‑Discovery Management: Overseeing e‑discovery processes for data preservation, review, and production. Coordinating with internal teams and outside counsel on litigation matters. Managing e‑discovery vendors and ensuring regulatory compliance. Developing scalable, defensible information governance processes.
  • Legal Applications & Technology Management: Serving as administrator and product owner for key legal technology platforms. Evaluating, implementing, and optimizing applications to improve workflow. Partnering with IT on integrations, security, and upgrades. Monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Program & Process Improvement: Leading cross‑functional initiatives and strategic projects. Establishing KPIs and dashboards to measure Legal performance. Developing scalable processes supporting growth. Ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, law firm management, or corporate legal department operations.
  • Bachelor's degree required in business, law, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience with legal technology, including billing platforms, e‑discovery tools, and other legal systems.
  • Proven success managing vendors and cross‑functional partnerships, ensuring alignment and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to drive complex initiatives from start to finish.
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving environment, balancing multiple priorities and delivering high quality results under tight deadlines.

This is a hybrid position which requires on-site work in our San Jose, CA location.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:
$73,300.00

Maximum:
$169,500.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
