Strategic Initiatives & PMO Manager

Yamaha Motor Finance - US has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Initiatives & PMO Manager. This PMO Manager will be responsible for the establishment, leadership, and ongoing management of the Project Management Office supporting YMFUS. The incumbent will oversee the planning and execution of the enterprise project portfolio and will ensure that initiatives are delivered in alignment with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and financial objectives. This role will provide standardized project governance, methodologies, and reporting to enable consistent, predictable delivery across all business units.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish, formalize, and maintain the PMO framework, including governance structures, standards, and procedures for enterprise projects and programs.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of the enterprise project portfolio, including intake, prioritization, resource planning, and execution monitoring.
  • Partner with executive leadership and functional heads (e.g., Operations, Credit, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Sales, and Finance) to ensure projects support strategic objectives and key business outcomes.
  • Implement and maintain standardized project management methodologies, tools, and templates to drive consistency, transparency, and effective risk management.
  • Develop and manage project and portfolio performance reporting, including status dashboards, financial tracking, and key performance indicators.
  • Lead governance routines (e.g., steering committees, portfolio reviews) to facilitate decision-making, issue resolution, and scope, schedule, and budget control.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate project and portfolio risks and issues, and drive the development and execution of mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and coaching to project managers and cross-functional project teams to ensure adherence to PMO standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements as they relate to project execution and change management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly evaluating PMO processes, tools, and practices and recommending enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, or equivalent years of experience. PMP preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading direct teams
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive project management experience, preferably within financial services; automotive captive finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building, maturing, or leading a Project Management Office or similar centralized project function.
  • Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional enterprise initiatives with significant organizational impact.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), working towards PMP preferred

  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with project budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, and business case development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver clear and concise executive-level presentations and reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate, develop, and hold project teams accountable for delivery commitments.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is based in Kennesaw, GA.
  • This position is required to be on-site in the office four (4) days per week, Monday through Thursday.
  • The position is authorized for remote work on Fridays, subject to business needs and departmental guidelines.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to meet critical deadlines and support key project milestones.
