Material Handler

POSITION PURPOSE
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, including tasks like loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner, often using machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety guidelines.
Starting $17.50 per hour with potential for growth based on experience.
Attendance incentives are available up to $160 per two-week period.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of materials, ensuring the accuracy of quantities of goods
- Label and stock materials on shelves, racks, or bins in accordance with established inventory control procedures
- Prepare materials for shipment by stacking and wrapping finished goods
- Pick and pack materials for production orders, ensuring the accuracy of quantities and tracking information
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines
- Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing SAP Software and participate in cycle count activities, as required
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklift and pallet jacks, in a safety and efficient manner
- Maintain stock levels in breakrooms, cabinets and other designated areas
- Maintain waste receptacles inside/outside of the building complying with all environmental and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED/High School equivalency
- Experience in a warehouse and/or logistics environment preferred
- Certification of forklift operation preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work within a team setting and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Basic math competency
- Entry-Level computer skills including data entry and navigating various inventory software
- Ability to use Microsoft Office outlook and excel
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage time efficiently, organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to operate a fork-lift and/or Powered Industrial Vehicles
