Techno Functional Consultant - Calypso

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide solutions and bridge the gap between technology and business know-how to deliver any client solution

This role focuses exclusively on Calypso Back Office for a strategic project to implement Calypso as an operational subledger for securities and manage upgrade activities. The position requires strong functional and technical expertise in Calypso to design, configure, and deliver accounting and processing solutions aligned with IFRS and HGB standards.

• Requirements Analysis
• Analyze business and accounting requirements for subledger functionality in Calypso.
• Understand trade lifecycle for issued and acquired debt instruments and shares.
• Design & Implementation
• Design and implement subledger setup for:
• Issued debt instruments (bonds, certificates, participation certificates, registered securities).
• Acquired debt instruments and shares
• Define accounting rules and mappings for IFRS and HGB standards.
• Configure and implement processing workflows within Calypso.
• Perform necessary system changes and enhancements in Calypso.
• Testing & Quality Assurance
• Assist in creating test cases and scenarios.
• Develop and execute developer-level tests to ensure quality before business and integration testing.
• Support UAT and provide functional validation.
• Upgrade Activities
• Participate in Calypso upgrade (e.g., v16 → v18 or higher).
• Ensure compatibility of subledger and accounting configurations during migration.

• Experience:
• 5 years working with Front Office and Accounting processes in Capital Markets.
• 5 years as Calypso Business Analyst (Back Office).
• Strong knowledge of:
• Static Data, Workflows, Scheduled Tasks.
• Accounting, Positions, Corporate Actions.
• Reporting Framework and Reconciliation.
• Deep understanding of financial instruments (repos, bonds, SLB, issuances).
• Experience with IFRS and HGB accounting principles and reporting.
• Proven track record in setting up new products, preferably debt instruments (bonds, certificates, participation certificates, registered securities).
• Ability to translate business requirements into new accounting rules in Calypso.
• Proven track record in implementation projects and AGILE methodology.
• Technical & Functional:
