Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide solutions and bridge the gap between technology and business know-how to deliver any client solution

Solaris / RHEL Systems Administrator

1. Operating System Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain Solaris 11 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
• Perform firmware, OS, and kernel upgrades.
• Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning.
• Implement OS hardening and security standards.

2. Infrastructure & Virtualization Management

• Manage Logical Domains (LDOMs), Solaris Zones, and VMware environments.
• Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and resource allocation.
• Administer enterprise engineered systems including Super Cluster and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) platforms.

3. Patching & Security

• Apply OS patches, service packs, and kernel updates.
• Implement security policies, compliance standards, and security agent configurations.
• Perform vulnerability remediation and compliance reporting.

4. Troubleshooting & Incident Management

• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, network, storage, and OS-level issues.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive actions.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

2. Skill upgradation and competency building

• Clear wipro exams and internal certifications from time to time to upgrade the skills
• Attend trainings, seminars to sharpen the knowledge in functional/ technical domain
• Write papers, articles, case studies and publish them on the intranet
