Join the Compat Team at Wipro Technologies-USA, collaborating closely with Microsoft to ensure seamless compatibility for applications and devices within the extensive Windows ecosystem. As a Mid-level Test Engineer based onsite in Redmond, VA, you will play a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing the Windows operating system's reliability across every update and version. This role is specifically tailored for professionals passionate about quality assurance and the intricacies of the Windows platform.
Your responsibilities will include designing, executing, and documenting comprehensive test plans that cover functional testing, regression testing, and user experience validation. You will engage directly with development teams to analyze root causes of defects and contribute to continuous improvement of testing strategies to uphold Microsoft's compatibility promise. Your expertise in device and driver testing will be highly valuable, helping to identify and resolve compatibility challenges early in the development cycle.
This role demands a keen understanding of test automation tools and methodologies, combined with the ability to manage defect tracking and reporting using industry-standard software. You will use your technical skills to interpret developer communications, participate in debugging sessions, and provide actionable feedback to ensure the delivery of robust software releases. Collaborating within a dynamic engineering division, you will also contribute towards enhancing testing frameworks and performance evaluation procedures to advance overall product quality.
We are seeking candidates with at least 3-5 years of focused experience in Windows platform testing, complemented by sound knowledge of SQL operations for data validation tasks. Familiarity with SSRS tools and competency in DDL, DML, and DCL SQL commands will support your role in generating insightful testing reports.
R esponsibilities:
- Deep familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems, including understanding key features, system components, and update mechanisms.
- Proven experience in functional testing, regression testing, and user experience (UX) evaluation methodologies to assure product quality and consistency.
- Solid expertise in quality assurance processes, with a preference for backgrounds involving device and driver testing within complex software ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of the software testing lifecycle, various testing methodologies, and proficiency in modern testing tools and automation frameworks.
- Technical aptitude to accurately analyze developer communications regarding error diagnosis, contributing informed insights to assist in problem resolution.
- Competency in defect tracking and bug reporting, utilizing standard tools to manage issue life cycles effectively.
- Experience working with SQL databases, including the use of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and the ability to perform DDL, DML, and DCL operations for data manipulation and validation during testing.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $45,000 to $110,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
