Cloud Architect

Location: Sydney, Australia Experience: 15 years

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Architect to design, build, and deliver modern, scalable cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a senior, customer-facing role requiring strong architectural leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.

• Architect and design end-to-end cloud solutions across Azure and GCP (both mandatory)
• Design and implement Azure Hub-and-Spoke network architectures
• Engage directly with customers to understand business requirements and translate them into robust cloud solutions
• Lead the implementation of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and services
• Manage identity and access using Azure Entra
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes platforms (AKS and GKE)
• Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and operational overhead
• Build in-house automation solutions and evaluate new tools to improve efficiency and standardize delivery
• Leverage Azure and GCP PaaS services to deliver cloud-native architectures
• Ensure solutions meet best practices for security, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization (FinOps)
• Support cloud migrations, modernization programs, and greenfield deployments
• Provide architectural governance, documentation, and technical leadership
• Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve delivery and operational processes

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect / Cloud Solution Architect • Strong hands-on expertise in:
• Microsoft Azure
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Terraform
• Azure DevOps (CI/CD)
• Kubernetes (AKS / GKE)
• Experience with Azure Hub-and-Spoke networking
• Strong knowledge of Azure Entra (Identity & Access Management)
• Experience working with Azure and GCP PaaS services
• Demonstrated success driving automation and process improvement initiatives
• Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, and logging
• Excellent customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions

• Experience in multi-cloud and/or hybrid environments
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Strong understanding of FinOps and cloud cost optimization
• Azure and/or GCP certifications
• Terraform certification
• Experience introducing enterprise-scale automation tools or platforms Key Competencies
