Position Purpose:

• We are seeking a highly skilled Application Security Specialist with a strong
• development background or extensive experience working closely with developers to embed
• security into the SDLC. The role focuses on identifying, analysing, and remediating application
• security vulnerabilities across enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on
• experience with tools such as Xray and GitHub Advanced Security and will collaborate with
• development teams to ensure secure coding practices and timely remediation.

Responsibilities (Tasks):

Application Security Monitoring & Analysis - Review and triage security alerts from Xray, GitHub Advanced Security, and other AppSec tools.

Analyse vulnerabilities in code repositories, dependencies, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Developer Collaboration
• Work closely with development teams to guide secure coding practices and
• remediation strategies.
• Conduct security reviews for new features and code changes.

Risk Assessment & Prioritisation - Assess severity and exploitability of vulnerabilities using CVSS and business

context.

• Prioritise remediation efforts based on risk and impact.

Secure SDLC Integration

• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
• Advocate for DevSecOps practices and automation.

Reporting & Metrics

• Maintain dashboards and reports on vulnerability trends, remediation progress, and compliance.

Process Improvement - Contribute to AppSec policies, standards, and best practices documentation.

• Candidate should possess foundational and practical knowledge in the following areas:
• Application Security Tools - Strong working knowledge of Xray, GitHub Advanced Security, Sonar cube and other similar App Sec and code review tools.
• Secure Coding Practices - OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST principles.
• CI/CD & DevOps - Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
• Reporting Tools - Proficiency in Excel, MS SharePoint. ServiceNow for data analysis, visualisation, and
• executive reporting.
• Security Frameworks & Standards - Familiarity with CVSS, NIST, ISO 27001, and Essential Eight.
• Threat & Exploit Analysis:
• Understanding of exploitability, threat intelligence, and how vulnerabilities are leveraged
