Software Engineer – DevOps Platform

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Devops Platform team, where you will blend linux system administration and software engineering skills to build and maintain all our infrastructure and core services running in our data centers and the cloud.
Wealthfront’s Infrastructure team is a team of “Generalists with Expertise” who adhere to DevOps principles by building software and services to automate all infrastructure operations. Our objective is to empower all our developers to build and own their systems end-to-end.
We're a modern infrastructure engineering team, believing strongly in testing, automation, and standardization through software. We operate in both physical data centers and AWS environments, and leverage open source technologies such as containers, MariaDB, NGINX, Jenkins, and Chef, as well as build tools and services using Go and Java to deliver automated infrastructure to our engineers and ultimately serve our clients.

• Wealthfront engineers automate observability in case of failure. If something is up, our systems inform engineers appropriately. If our systems are quiet, they are healthy.

As a member of the team, you will:
- Maintain our core infrastructure by writing software to automate application deployment, configure our infrastructure, and manage critical services such as our databases.

This role could be a fit if you have:
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or an Engineering field
- Experience with running and troubleshooting modern Linux systems and services in production
- 2+ years of experience developing reliable production-grade software in Java, Go, or other similar languages
- Proficiency with at least one automation technology such as Terraform, Chef, or Puppet
- Successfully designed and deployed mission-critical complex distributed systems
- Excellent critical thinking and communications skills with a desire to both learn from and educate your peers

Estimated annual salary range: $145,000 - $185,000 plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
